Bigger Than Big (Part 1)
Natalie and her twin sister, Samantha, burst into the house after school. “Dad! Dad! You’ll never guess what we learned today,” said Natalie. “Something big!”
Dad was changing a light bulb in his office. “What did you learn?”
“The biggest thing ever!” Samantha said. “It’s big—real big. Big big.”
“I can’t wait to hear,” said Dad.
“Our science teacher said there are more than one hundred billion galaxies
in the universe, with billions of stars in each galaxy,” Natalie said.
“There could even be as many as 250 billion stars just in our galaxy alone!” Samantha added.
Dad turned on the lamp. “Wow, that is pretty big.”
“Pretty big?” Natalie laughed. “What could be bigger than billions and billions of stars?”
“Well,” Dad said, “I can think of two things that are bigger.”
Samantha pulled up a chair. “Two?”
“God is bigger, right?” Dad smiled. “He made all those stars.”
“Of course God is bigger,” Natalie said. “We must look like a little speck of dust to Him.”
“Actually,” Dad said, “that leads me to the second thing bigger than the stars.”
“Well, it isn’t humans,” Samantha said.
Dad laughed. “You’re right about that. But God’s love for humans is so big He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for us. That’s way bigger than the universe.”
Samantha blinked. “Billions of people all over the world—and God loves each one.”
Natalie dropped her backpack. “Whoa, that’s a lot of love!”
Dad smiled. “We serve a big God! The billions and billions of stars He created are just a small reminder of how big He is.”
Samantha looked out the window and imagined stars in the sky. “The next time I see stars, I’ll remember that God made all of them and that He loves me.”
“So, God loving everyone is big?” Dad asked. “Bigger than billions of stars?”
“God loving everyone is bigger than big,” said Natalie. “It’s HUGE!”

How about you?
Have you ever thought about how big the universe is, with all its stars and galaxies? The universe is big, but God’s love is bigger! His love is so big that it extends to every person in the whole world. His love for us is so deep that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. He loves us so much that He calls those who trust in Him His children. His love for us is truly amazing!
