getting to the next level of his new video game! All things that they just NEED!
Sometimes, our “wants really feel like “needs”. How do we tell the
difference?
How about
you…
Have you ever
found yourself saying, “I just NEED
to...” (get this, see that, do whatever)?

out…
Keeping our eyes on the things of heaven and not so much on the things of earth is a good idea when it comes to sorting out our wants from our needs. Colossians 3 begins with these verses:
Since, then, you have been raised with
Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right
hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly
things.
It doesn’t mean we just forget about the stuff in this world. Some of the stuff here is pretty cool, BUT it doesn’t compare with Jesus. He is the only thing in life we really NEED. The other things start to feel like needs when we begin to “set our hearts” on them. That’s why this passage in Colossians warns us against doing that. Enjoy the things in this life that you were meant to enjoy, but never “set your heart” on it—otherwise that thing will start to take the place that’s meant only for God. We don’t have to wait for Heaven to share our lives with Him, and have a relationship with Him. We can do that right now by setting our hearts on Him.
