Down Gilead Lane, Season 4 | Episode 10

SUNRISE; UPSET

Season Description

Season Four of Down Gilead Lane solves the mystery of Grace’s accident! In this season, the kids decide to take matters into their own hands, and “”Operation Lemonade”” is put into action. Pretty much everybody in Coleraine knows something about that night, but why don’t they want to talk about it? The kids are going to find out!

Today’s Story

Mom and Dad are heading off to a “grown-ups only” lunch meeting. That’s right, “No Kids Allowed.”

But, it’s curiosity vs. conscience when Michael and Brooke stumble on to the parents’ meeting when they go out for a burger (or three, if you’re Michael).

Will their thirst for lemonade - Operation Lemonade, that is - get the best of them? Or, will they obey their parents and stay away from the big meeting at the Sunrise Grill?

After all, Mom and Dad never said they couldn’t go anywhere

HOW ABOUT YOU…

Have you ever done something you know your parents wouldn’t want you to do and then tried to justify it by saying that they didn’t specifically tell you not to do it?

CHECK THIS OUT…

The Bible says to “Honor your Father and Mother.” In fact, it’s one of the Ten Commandments listed in Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. To honor our parents, means we have to do much more than obey them.

It means we have to live the way we know they would want us to live and make choices that would make them proud of our actions.

If your parents love the Lord, then they give you boundaries and guidelines because they love you and want what’s best for you.

Honoring them is actually the best way you can honor yourself and God, too. That’s why Ephesians 6:2-3 contains this promise: "Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise-- that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

Obeying Godly parents will not only be honoring to them, but it will also allow us to reap blessings for ourselves and to bring glory to God.
