Today’s Story

However, behind the scenes, Monica is struggling with her own memories of the past that seem to reveal why she is who she is today.
How about you?
Have you ever felt very sad inside when everyone else around you was happy?
Check this out…
Jesus cares about your hurts, even when it seems like no one else does. In this episode, Monica’s father—and later, father-in-law—didn’t seem to love Monica for who she really was. That can hurt! But God is very clear in His Word that he cares about you, even if your very own parents don’t seem to.
Psalm 27:10 says:
Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will hold me close.
God sees our struggles, and understands that the pain we are going through is real. And do you know what else? He cares about it, and wants to hear how we are hurting!
We can see this later, in Psalm 34:17 when the psalmist writes:
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
God is close to those who are in need, and wants to help them.
Are you feeling sad and in pain about something? Talk to Jesus about it. He wants to hear your heart. That’s when following Jesus gets to be great—when he becomes the one we can depend on. Matthew 5:3 says:
God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Do you need Jesus? He’s right there, waiting to hear all of your happy things and sad things. Just start talking.
