Check this out…

The book of Hebrews chapter 12 has this to say about our relationships:

Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

It seems like the writer is saying that making every effort—doing all we can—to live in peace, is a way to holiness!  Then he goes on to talk about grace... now, I’m sure you know that the definition of grace is “unmerited favor”, or “being loved when you don’t deserve it”.  I’m sure you also know that this is what God has done for us.  BUT DID YOU KNOW that grace is what WE are also to show to others?  Yeah, it’s how we can forgive; it’s how we can live at peace—even with people who don’t deserve it!  When we show grace to people, it gives them the opportunity to experience the grace God wants to show them!  So, if you know of a relationship that needs some peace and a person who needs some grace, ask God to help you, then “make every effort”!
