Today’s Story
Love is a Many Splintered
Thing
With the annual Spring Ball right
around the corner, Tiffany’s dreaming
of being crowned Queen, Monica’s scheming to make it happen, and Tom’s
trying to be redeeming and be the
best husband and father he can be in this difficult
situation.
How about
you…
Do you
ever pursue your own agenda and try to “make it happen” all on your own? Or do you ever find yourself with people
who are selfish in that way and wonder how you can be a redemptive influence in
their lives?
Check this
out…
In the Biblical book of wisdom known
as Proverbs, we find these wise words in chapter 3:
Trust in the LORD with
all your heart
and lean not on your own
understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths
straight.
So, if you really want something or
to do something or to “make something happen”, just remember that God wants us
to trust Him with everything in us and to acknowledge Him in every area of our
lives. Once we’ve done that, He
will show us the way we should go.
At the same time, if you know someone
who doesn’t see the value in trusting and acknowledging the Lord (like Tom with
Monica and Tiffany), this Proverb is a good one for you to think about too. God knows you care about those people,
and He shares your desire to see them make good decisions based on a
relationship with Him. So, if you
can really trust God with those people, not your own understanding, and if you
can Acknowledge God and His power, authority and Lordship in your relationships,
He will show you the right way to go the right words to say the right boundaries
to set up in those relationships to be the living witness you want to be to
them.
