How about you…

Have you ever drawn a conclusion about somebody before you really got to know them?  Has anyone ever done that to you?

Check this out…

The apostle James had some pretty strong words to his fellow believers in the early church when he wrote these words:

My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet," have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? – James 2:1-4

Pretty strong words for people who favor some and hinder others!  Now, how could James know if someone has become a judge with evil thoughts?  Well, it helps that his words were inspired by God Himself, but it also is just common sense.  If you are looking at someone’s appearance or reputation, you’re not looking at them like the Lord does.  He looks at their heart—not their background, their family, their brains, their clothes, their hairstyle, their bank account, or anything else.  We need to be more like Jesus—care about people and get to know them and “make a RIGHT judgement”!
