Check this out…

In His famous “sermon on the mount” recorded for us in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus had these words to say about worry:

“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”

And then at the end of chapter 6, He went on to say this:

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

In other words, there’s nothing we can do about tomorrow’s troubles, we need to be addressing today’s troubles.  And what do you think God want’s us to do about today’s troubles?  Well take another look at the first chapter of James.  Verses 2 through 4 say:

“Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.”

See how it works?  Handling today the way God wants us to is what will prepare us for tomorrow!
