Down Gilead Lane, Season 12 | Episode 12

GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS

Season Description

Since we first heard from the Morrison family on a quiet road in a small town, we’ve come a long way. Kids have grown up, graduated, and moved away from home. New members have joined the family. This season , find out who’s behind Peace of Heaven, how Monica Richter can get herself out of the mess she’s in, and what significant life choices are made. Find out what happens when the pieces of the puzzle ultimately fall into place in Coleraine.

Today’s Story

Monica, Tom’s death, John’s investigation, and two seemingly corrupt companies are all coming together in a strange way. Will John Morrison be able to crack the case, or will Saternine get away with their deceptive plot? It’s a lesson about trusting God in the middle of tough situations.

How About You?
Have you ever had a time in your life where you thought your troubles were too big or even too small for God to handle?

Check This Out…
Sometimes we think it’s easier to worry about our problems than give them to God. It’s easy to think, “Oh, this is an issue that is too much for God to be able to fix,” or “This is just a silly thing that I have to do, why would God want to help me?”

We might not even think those phrases aloud, but when we start to worry about school, or work, or other problems in our life, we are showing the world that we don’t really trust God to help us.

In Matthew 6:25-27, Jesus says, Don’t worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes. Doesn’t life consist of more than food and clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are. Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not.

God doesn’t want us to worry even about the little things. If he doesn’t want us to worry about small stuff, then he most certainly doesn’t want us to worry about the big issues in our life! He has everything—both big and small—in his hands.

You might ask, “But what happens if something bad happens to me or someone I love, like what happened to the Richter family?” Those are the hard questions of life, but the bottom line is that no matter what happens, God knows what he’s doing. Everything he does and allows to happen doesn’t happen outside of His knowledge or control.

If something happens, it is for a reason. It might be for us to grow stronger or closer to God. I know it might not seem like a great option in the midst of struggle, but if hardships help to push us to be better people, then we should be asking God to bring it on!
