Today’s Story
Talk about crying over spilled milk – This episode catches Timmy at his most careless! First, he flips a gallon of “2%” all over the kitchen floor, then he forgets to turn off the water in the bathtub…oh well! Dry carpets are so over-rated!
Seriously - Timmy’s carelessness is just starting to get him into deep trouble, when he goes fishing with Mr. Key. There he accidentally spills the boat over and loses a most precious family treasure. How about you… Have you ever felt awkward because you’re young and make mistakes? Do you think God might not be able to use you because you feel so “clumsy” sometimes?
Check this out… 1 Samuel 17 – The Story of David and Goliath.
David was the youngest in a
family of brave warriors. He tended the sheep. But when the Philistines challenged
In preparing for the battle, David was confident that God would protect him and give him a big win over a seemingly impossible opponent. But just to be sure, Saul tried to let David wear his armor. The Bible says David tried on all that gear but could barely walk around with all the weight (David was kinda small).
Armed with only five smooth stones he picked up in a nearby stream and his total trust in God to deliver him victory, David stepped onto the battlefield to take on the feared giant.
David could have let his small size talk him out of what he believed: that God would protect him from being killed by a seemingly invincible enemy.
As a young person, your trust in God is the best weapon you could ever carry into the battlefield of life where temptations and sin can seem sometimes unbeatable. But just as Saul said to avid:“Go, and the Lord be with you.”
