Child: Hey, don't go away. It's time to read. Keys for kids.

Uncle Charlie: Yes, indeed, it's Keys for Kids. Your time with your daily devotion. I'm Uncle Charlie, and we're going to be talking about helpful Hank and reading from romans 15 right after we hear some good music to get us started today.

Child: The B I B l E. Yes, that's a book for me. I stand alone on the word of God. The Bible. The Bible. I'll take it along with me. I'll read and pray and then obey. The B I B l E.

Uncle Charlie: Romans, chapter 15. That's Romans, chapter 15. I'm reading the first three.

We then that are strong ought to bear the iniquities of the weak and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself. But as it is written, the reproaches of them that reproach thee fell on me. Our story today is called helpful Hank. Hank ran home from school. It was report card day, and he knew his dad and mom would be proud of him. He'd earned straight a's. Look. He yelled as soon as he was in the door. Another super report. His mom gave him a hug, and his dad's face broke out in a big smile. That's terrific, Hank. I know you worked hard for these grades. How about some cookies to celebrate? Mom suggested. Sounds good to me, Hank agreed. He went into the kitchen and got himself two peanut butter cookies and then stood by the door eating them. He looked up to see his brother Matt coming. Matt certainly didn't act as though he was in much of a hurry to get home. He was slowly walking up the driveway to the house. And how's your report card? Matt asked mom as he came in the door.

Not very good. Matt looked as if he wanted to cry. School's just too hard. Hank sneaked a look at Matt's report card while his mom was reading it. It was a bad report at first. Hank felt proud because his grades were so much better and he almost started bragging to his brother, but he stopped just in time. He knew that Matt had been sick a lot during the past grading period, and besides, it wasn't easy for Matt to get good grades. He always had a hard time learning. I shouldn't make fun of Matt, Hank thought. The Lord would want me to help him. Are. Are you still working on fractions? Hank asked. Matt nodded yes, and I'm completely lost. I can't seem to learn how to do emerald. I could help you, offered Hank. We could start right now.

Really? Asked Matt. Oh, Hank, thanks a lot.

You're the best brother a person could have.

Both Matt and mother. And Hank looked pleased. And Hank felt good that he had done what he knew the Lord would want him to do.

Now, how about you? Do you have the habit of bragging about what you can do? Do you think that you are better than your friends just because you know how to do math well or maybe play softball well? Don't be proud. Instead, be kind and help others do their best, too.

Let's review romans 15 one. We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weakness and not to please ourselves.

And so our key phrase for today is help others.
